Entry from: Dalat, Vietnam Entry Title: “To the cool mountain city of Dalat” Entry: “Tuesday morning we board a bus for a long 6 hour ride to Dalat, in the mountains to the South East of Nha Trang. It is apparently the place where many Vietnamese couples spend their honeymoon, so we are looking forward to a nice romantic setting. Along the way we stop at the usual roadside markets, snack spots, pit stops and try our hand conversing with the local people traveling with us. On arrival at Dalat, the bus delivers us to our pre-booked accommodation at DREAMS Hotel 2, (USD 18 deluxe double including full breakfast)) which was highly recommended by previous guests. The hotel is certainly worthy of heaps of praise, starting with our room, which has 2 queen beds, and a huge spa bathroom, which even has a fully automatic male urinal. The city of Dalat is a charming alpine-like town nestled in the cool mountains, and is a welcome relief after the tropical heat of the inland. There are wonderful flower gardens and markets, a mini eiffel tower which is lit up at night, delightful bakeries, a good selection of restaurants and markets, steam baths, temples, a suspended cable car, monestaries and waterfalls and the delightfully kitsch ‘crazy house’.
